Michelle, cold and rainy day here. Ed is home he had an annual wellness appt. with his primary care physician to get med refills. We were going to the garden center today to buy the flowers for my planter boxes for my hummingbirds, but just miserable outside, so it will wait for a better day. So you struggle with plants as critters come to snack on them.    Garden centres here tell which plants are deer resistant.      Dont have thant problem as we are just above the forrested area here in the valley.  also our backyard is totally fenced in.  We have rhodo's, camilla's, viburnum's & cedars in the backyard, as well as smaller shrubs.  I plant sun patients in planters on the patio and lillies.     I do understand the hanging pots and the summer heat from the bricks.    guess you need hanging plants that its ok to dry out a bit.     Have you ever planted Little Rhaspberry Bitter Root.   they dont require to stay wet and do well with little sun.
have you tried just petunias in hanging baskets?   they might be alright for you.
30 years ago we had alot more wild life visit out front, but as the years have gone by and development happened.   some are our area closer to green belts that are connected to the mountain side have deers and bears coming around.    we just have raccoons mainly now and they dont like the yard of a dog, lol.   they forge for grubs in alot of our neighbours lawns and make a terrible mess.           
We just  had a week of warm sunny days, so we were able to get alot of yardwork  & pressure washing completed.   Hardwork, but I prefer it to housework come the warmer weather.
How are the GrandKido's doing?
The Easter Saffron Buns I told you about are easy.    I just make basic white bread dough in my bread maker, but add it a teaspoon of saffron just after the milk.   then I do the forming of buns when the dough is completed.      It was what my mother in law use to make,   I just cheat and let the machine make the dough, Laugh.
Saffron is expensive.     I also use the saffron when I make basmati rice.  it is sweet and  very yello once put in with a liquid.    Have you used it before?

Morning Michelle, sounds like you had a great day with Larry and Liam. Seems like it worked out fine even though it may have been a cool gloomy day. We will have a nice day today, then the rain and storms move in, Ed will come home Tuesday night as it will be rainy and he will take advantage of it and do his yearly wellness exam and med refill with his primary care physician. It was a fast furious weekend. He didn't get home until 5 pm on Saturday and left at 4 pm yesterday so less than 24 hours doesn't give us much time especially since we sleep part of that time. Lol. Will be going with my sister to take Molly for her back/neck adjustment and see if her uti is gone today. Lunch while we are out and then home. I hope you have a great day. Good morning Michelle, it has turned off chilly here the last few days. It has been a good weekend. Ed didn't get home as early as he usually does, so we have a lot to do before he has to leave again. Teamwork thats what it takes on the weekends. I hope you enjoy your day. I used to read a lot but not as much as I used to. My sister and niece are avid readers. They enjoy it. So good that you enjoyed your day yesterday. We had a bit of rain this morning so cloudy here today. With the gentle rain I won't have to water the garden. Win for me.
