Hello Susan, we are also under a heat dome. We broke a record yesterday. It got to 96 and the record was 95. Today is going to be hotter…99 with a heat index of 111… I’m not a fan of extreme heat as many aren’t. We are all staying in the air conditioning too. My son is a laborer for our village DPW and I worry about him being out in the heat. We have no plans this year for the 4th. Penny is not bothered by fireworks but I have a bad feeling Piper will be… I guess we will find out very soon. They are at the groomers now. Piper sat in her seat and didn’t get sick… until I took her out of the car. She threw up in the grass. I gave her a whole Meclizine an hour and a half before we left and she refused to eat so she didn’t have anything other than water in her stomach. Larry gets out at noon today and has tomorrow off. He should be home by the time they call for us to pick them up so I will be able to hold piper on our way home.  I hope your weekend is a relaxing one and try to stay cool. Sending love and hugs 💜

Night Sprinkle for our Sweeties!
High of 88°, but the humidity was brutal....like hitting a brick wall. My glasses fogged up the second I stepped outside.  I did spend a little time by the pond, but I didn't want to get too much sun. Reported a plant on the porch, but that was the extent of my outdoor activities. I chickened out on the spring rolls, but I made a salad out of the stuffing....no cooking involved! Tomorrow I think I'll  have a BLT salad and add some avocado rather than croutons.
Water temp finally at 62°,  but still planning on waiting til next week to go to the beach. Town is already crazy with the tourists invasion for the 4th. It's not bad up in my nest, maybe a little stuffy, but I've got the fan blowing on me. Glad you're keeping cool and you can put off your trip to the copy place til next week. Heading out to find you in Dreamland,  bringing love   hugs and kisses for my Bestie ♥️♥️♥️

😲 there's nothing to water!
Not super hot yet. But the humidity is like hitting a brick wall when you step outdoors. No. Not doing laundry today. I've got a Mumu on for in the house and I plan on going out to the pond later and will wear shorts and a tank top.
No one can see me back there any ways! These crowds should clear out after Sunday the 5th.
No I did not get around to the dining room table yesterday. Lol.
That storm had me side tracked. That big wave of motivation I experienced has passed. Lol.
Hope you get those pages copied. Do you have to travel far?
Going to try my hand at spring rolls for supper...never made them before and that rice paper looks tricky! You and Sis keep cool.

Saturday Sprinkle for our Sweeties
Oh boy...Sis really wanted that bird!  They do have hunter instincts.  Years ago, I rescued a song sparrow from one of our cats clutches. I have an old bird cage too, so that's where Tweetie bird ended up. I think it was in shock and may have been injured too. Anyway, that bird ended up in our room away from the cats and with each passing week got better. It would fly up to perch and feed seeds to itself in the mirror.  We really git attached to him. One day in autumn,.a flock of his peeps were gathered in the apple trees and really singing up a storm. Tweetie  went nuts and was throwing himself up against his cage. Bill said, he want to go with his flock. I took him in my hand and walked out by the end of the garden, then opened my hand and watched him fly off to join his pals. We had him fir around 3 months!
Have you checked on the baby bird since? Oh Sis!  Can just picture her being miffed at you. I'm sure your getting plenty of side eye  and the cold shoulder! Amanda write today that James took Trish,  but that's all I know. I wouldn't have let him take my sick baby! Arrrgh. Hope Sis warms up. Sending my Bestie lots of love, hugs and

Good morning, Susan. I also think all breeds have their own health issues depending on that particular breed. The good news is , I believe if we take very good care of our little furry love bugs they can live a long healthy life… maybe some tweaks along the way but still long and healthy!! Another plus of a small breed is they usually live a much longer life than a large breed. I’ve read so many stories lately about little dogs living to 20 plus years…as long as they are thriving and living their best life I would welcome that a million times over!!This is why I spoil my girls 🥰. We had a gloomy, rainy day yesterday. The temperature dropped after dinner and it was quite cool. The sun is shining now and it’s supposed to warm up with little to no chance of rain. Hello Susan. We had a Doberman, Carter. Sweetest boy ever. Such a gentle giant. He actually was my son’s dog as a teenager but we all considered him our dog. He had bloat and thank the good Lord above survived it. They took him to lights on the lake and then stopped at our house for a visit. He was thirsty so we gave him water. He had a lot and we weren’t aware of the danger of consuming water or food after exercise. My son called at 1am telling me what was happening. Carter was pacing and couldn’t get comfortable. I heard of bloat and told them to get him in the car asap and to the emergency vet that was about 20 minutes away. Luckily they got him there in time and his surgery was successful. They tacked his stomach down so it wouldn’t happen again. He lived for a year and a half longer and passed at almost 9 years old 6 weeks after Alina was born. I miss him. I know Havanese and other similar small breeds are prone to pancreatitis so I do worry about the girls. Max had it twice. My bosses dog died from it. How is Sadye doing today? I’ve been saying lots of prayers 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻. Sending love and hugs 💜

Rip seems more settled today and did eat some fish flakes. I'm hoping the mama & fawn come back this evening. I really am making use of my porch this year & enjoy watching the wildlife. Our heatwave is supposed to start Monday and last through the week. Temps of 103 predicted for downstate! We have rain due here this afternoon...nothing heavy. How is Ed's garden coming along?

Tomorrow is haircut day. I found a pic from last summer I'm going to show her to use as a guide. I'll send it to you. It was taken after swimming so there's a little more body to my hair than usual. I sorted through my dirty clothes and I don't really have that big of a load...going to shelve the laundromat til next week and instead, go grocery shopping after my haircut.  Need to stock up so I don't have to shop again til after the 4th holiday. Hello Susan, I’m so glad Sadye’s liver numbers have improved. I understand your concern by her kidneys. I’m thinking as well that once her primary doctor takes a look at her results he may have more options for you. Does her breed have liver and kidney issues? In my opinion, small dogs seem to be healthier than a larger breed and even when they have health concerns they are more easily managed than the bigger dogs. I am continually praying for Sadye 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻. We had a nice weekend celebrating Larry's birthday and Father’s Day. The weather was perfect. Today is our daughter and son-in-laws 7th wedding anniversary. They are going to dinner so we are watching the kids. We took them to camp on Saturday and they wore us both out… we are definitely getting old… lol.
