Hi Piper, can't believe there is still fires in your area, gosh the ground must be so dry. Good idea about the dumpster, I would like to order a skip, have so much wood in the back yard from trees and bushes that were cut down, and then think, the way the elec and gas is going up in price, and maybe even power cuts, since they are going more green in this country, I just might need the wood to have a barbie or something. lol
Just finished one of the character dolls I am doing, have to do it's twin, but the one I just almost finished was so fiddly, think I will sit and just do mini elves which should be hopefully easy to do. I do take on some challenges. The faces are the thing that I don't like doing and sewing together. takes longer than the knitting.
When I did the pumpkins I watered in the merwitch gardens and spotted two lochness monsters. Just wish I could spot some hummers, then I could start putting attracting them in the garden. How are you doing with your crochet. Have to go get ready for bed. Book to finish, well it's a series. lol Can't wait to see your blanket growing. Hi Piper, just back from my sister's I go to visit her every Thursday evening. I sit at Lin's and do some knitting while chatting. lol 
I have to do the broomstick for the witch and the purple guy has a beard, it was actually pink lips that I messed up, and tried to undo it, in the end I pulled it into a beard from the wool strands still left in the face. lol
So glad you have some new wool. I bought my crochet hooks from ebay, a pack was less then £10 and so worth it, there was real thick ones in the pack. What colour have you chosen for your blanket. I always buy online, you can get some great deals. I want to do some little elves because that is what the kids seem to want. Rhian had my big elf and my great grandchild Isla had the little elf.
My son has said I need to leave the tv on for Etty when I go out, and I think he's right, she does love watching tv. The grass has grown and need to get it cut, but the rain persists. Look forward to seeing the progress of your blanket and bet it will grow quickly. ;-)
Not been in fairyland much... nothing to do, once the pumpkins are growing and have the ones I wanted. You were wise to rest the tops. No one wants them at the moment, it’s all Halloween. I’m getting fed up watching my garden and spotting my own !  Will let my bushes slow grow this week

That must have been a first for you...  no garden.  It is so hot here and sun so intense it is difficult to grow anything.  I do miss a garden.
The rain was good for all!  It is difficult when things get so dry and one cannot even mow w/o having to be concerned of fire danger =[
Feeling more like Autumn here this week.  Just would like it to stay in the 70's now for about 3 more months.

It is good to have a break. I’ve been having days off and slow growing things. It does get too intense doing them all the time.

Oh yes, that would be a problem if it's multi coloured wouldn't it Piper. I have knitted this evening, and almost every row was different, was hard to concentrate on what row I was on. And it was only the legs of a character from when I was young. lol Hope you sort out the ripple effect, I would have just made a little one and see how it looks first perhaps. A chair pad maybe. lol I did crochet a doll last night, and am waiting for tapestry needles, because the other needles are pulling the wool when I try and sew on a face. Gosh I can't even read a crochet pattern Piper, I have watched on you tube and once they have six stitches on the hook, my mind boggles, you are doing well Piper, hope it grows quickly for you. lol Can't wait to see the end product. I enjoyed doing my blanket, because it was so easy, the only thing I needed was pastel coloured wool. It's still sitting there waiting for me to sew a backing on.
It's very wet over here. have little streams going down the road during the night, I thank goodness my house is two steps up, because we get a big puddle at the base of the steps when we have these downpours. Have a wasp nest behind the guttering on the wall, wish they would die off now. lol Seems we get one every year, either at the front of the house, near the guttering or the back on the house.
May just watch that film, when I don't have to concentrate, just started another knitting project. Wishing you a fab week Piper. xxx

Gosh, do you need to concentrate to make the ripple in the blanket. I did a big one for my bed, but it was just a square that got bigger and bigger. lol
I thought one of your nut vases was a steak pie. lol 
Trust the oak to be the biggest, and growing the pumpkin is so much harder this year I think.
I just happened to come back online, watered and spotted my Prince. lol Was so lucky.
Isn't the film on netflix a dark comedy or something like that. Seen the ad for it a few times.
