Thanks for spotting Grace....I can't even begin to imagine what it would be like to be up to your waist in snow.  The most I have ever known would be just enough to cover my boots.  I do enjoy walking in the snow when it's crisp and fresh and I wouldn't have to try and wade through it like you do.  And I do love the silence it brings when your out and about in it.  Funny how it muffles every sound.  I find that almost nostalgic.  I use to love it as child.  But most of us do I guess.  We get sense as we get older.  And of course the fear of falling in it.  Especially the ice.  I wouldn't have cared less about that when I was a kid.  It's dull and damp here today.  Nothing exciting about our weather.  I think that building you mention with all the amenities under one roof for the occupants sounds great.  Imagine that.  I don't get the impression you would give up where you live to go live in it though.  Have a good day Grace...xxxxx
