Yes, chillier here, we put the heating on for a short while. 
We had a couple of encounters with hornets when we lived there. One was when we were still living in the caravan while we were renovating the house.  One evening they decided that our caravan was the place to be,  there were so many of them trying to get in, through the windows and gaps.  It was quite frightening. The next time we had Asian hornets build a nest next to the house,  Col was walking past and one stung him on the head, until then we hadn't known it was there.  Got in touch with the Mairie. Good Luck with driving them out. xx
