I’ve been reading about your hens! Sounds marvelous...John O’Carrol has some beautiful hens too.

That's good Eloise, I'm pleased to hear that. The babies are just so cute. What colour are yours? We got up this morning,,it's 0750 here now, to find only 2 ducks in the pond. The other 14 have flown the coop. My husband is off to work so he phoned to say he saw them further down the river rooting around in the mud, hopefully they might came back at high tide x

The worst for Mum & Alfie's garden was that I was too exhausted to build the Rainbow chart for her first Rainbow candy she got all 10 violets for and two of the shapes were correct for the next Violet Cherrymole so, the thought of harvesting them and and start building the rainbow chart, I just harvested the rainbow shape and went back to the next critter. If only I could have saved the rainbow pant for later. Then, to rub salt in the wound, as soon as we started trying to discover the first rainbow combo for the Cherrymole, we got the two correct positions for the rainbow lollipup combo and had to ditch them as we're still trying to find the middle shape and color for the Cherrymole!! If we could have stored those two we could have brought them out with the rainbow seed and gone straight to attracting the Rainbow Lollipup whereas now we'll have to regrow them and attract 10more violets for another seed and then try to regrow the two rainbow shapes!! Yikes!! Sounds horrible!!!

Yay!! The greenhouse will save you!! Good Luck on the Orange this time!!
Just now I'd LOVE a greenhouse because my Violet Lollipup and Chocobug combos are exactly the same shapes but different colors! It will be very annoying to ditch the WRONG colors for one of them when we probably need them again later for the OTHER one!! Yikes!!

Oh no, that's a reaL disaster, losing the chicks after such a long journey. You'll be so worried about the rest now. I had to google Wyandottes as I'd never heard of them before, they are very attractive birds. I hope the rest of your brood will be okay x

Aww, sorry to read about your wee chicks. Would noise stress them out that much? My husband is a joiner & he is always doing something with drills, saws etc. At the moment he's building a car port. We have a double garage but he still needs a car port. Lol. It will double up as a seating area when it's warm but wet, an alternative to a conservatory or a sun room, and I will get a retractable washing line up there so washing can dry in all weathers. I missed the end of your post, it must have been too long. It's lovely to see the chicks grow up & what has been especially nice this year is seeing the older drakes develop their adult colouring, green heads, white collar, chestnut breast & grey bellies plus the 2 little black curly feathers at their tail. The car port, by the way, is getting painted silver grey & mallard green! And will be called the duck den! Lol. Last years ducks went away & never returned so we never knew what happened to them or saw them changing colour as they matured. Do you have a farm? x
