HI Judy, thats a huge population for one area isnt it.  The UK of course is over populated these days , with almost 70 million. We have different companies for all utilities and a different one for each utility where ever you are in the UK's England, Scotland and Wales. They all vie for business for electricity no matter where you are so, compensation, and cheaper rates is incentives to use their companies. I hope it warms up for you there Hun, been a windy but lovely afternoon. l finished planting the second lot of flowers that we bought, worn out now and hands are sore.
