Hey you! Had a pretty good day, Jeanette called round this morning to collect the knitting and other Christmas bags I'd made up. She was blown away by the amount of knitting mum had done too, she's really been a demon this year with the amount she's got through! Put up the window clings (Luke got the job of doing the toilet clings and they are hilarious) and put out the Yule log. It's a small version and we're using battery operated tealights but it's made from real wood with real pinecones so I'm happy. I even got down to wrapping some presents... YAY... but no cards written yet. Perhaps I'll start those first tomorrow! Had to do the online grocery shop for tomorrow and take Luke to have his flu jab (poor boy has to have it to protect me) he's not great with needles and I love that he did this for me.

It's been crazy windy here, we were worried that the bird feeders were going to be blown over at one point, and you can still hear it whistling round the house!  Watched Love Actually this evening, it's one of those films that I will watch over and over again, one of my absolute favourites (of which there are many 🤣🤣🤣) and makes me smile. Ohhhh I am 100% with you on the whole matching thing but with me it's wrapping paper and the gift tags! I'll throw paper out (recycle it) if I run out of matching tags, sets my OCD nerves twitching! How's the house, train wreck or better today? I'm sorry you had to work so late yesterday. How are you? How's the head? No lingering headache? I have no clue what a "dolly handle" is but if it hit you hard enough to give you a headache, that's not good!

Oh sh*t! Is the furnace what your brother came by to sort out last time? That's pretty scary, the thought of your pipes freezing in this weather. And yes, your message cut off after the words "major draft..." Did you get the insulation panels up? Okay, okay, okay, what are 7 layer bars? You slip them in between Brownies and Chocolate Chip Cookies so I'm assuming it's some sort of sweet treat - anything with 7 layers has my immediate interest 🤣 I'm not a bad cake baker but my cookies never turn out that great! I like a crispy edge and a softer centre. Eurgh! I really fancy one now 🤣🤣 My friend Jen who lived in the UK for a few years made awesome cookies at Christmas! Not peanut butter though, anything but that 😉 the only thing it's good for is going in pupcakes 🤣

I'm not sure what's going on here for Christmas and Boxing Day yet. It's quite sad that at 55 I'm jealous of the way my mum treats my brother! Last year he INFORMED us in our family group chat, that he and Kim would be visiting Christmas Day and he wanted a Boxing Day dinner (cold Turkey, creamy mash and pickle - not what you guys call pickle, Google Branston Pickle and Piccalilli (UK) and you'll see). Mum did it. No one else was even asked. Stuart wanted it, he got it. I was fuming. Dad, Luke and I wanted our traditional Christmas dinner but so what? He didn't. End of story. Anyway, Mrs Robinson will be on her own over Christmas (there's a story there but I can't get Luke to tell me more!!) and, as much as she sets my teeth on edge, the thought of her being on her own... yeah that's not happening.

I was more than prepared to ask mum if she could come here but Luke would rather go there. That is really going to set the cat amongst the Pigeons but he'll be going. I don't stand up to my mum very often, the fallout just isn't worth it, but he'll be going whether my brother is here or not!! Watch this space 🤣 Does mom not like shopping? Mine hates it which is why I get the job of doing the online orders! Hopefully it won't be too bad for you next week. A few of my friends have been food shopping this week already and they've all said it's crazy!! I was going to sign off then when I remembered... I finished the Chicks!! Can't believe the last two were so easy, Chickadees were mad, I had 60 feeds and only about 6 were WRCs. One table, the whole 20 feeds were birds.

I've got that Birdtable ready to go but back to the Christmas critters for a bit first. That really is it, I'm not typing anymore 🤣 Hope you're feeling ok and you've got your heating sorted, fingers crossed, I'm still not planning on being around much to try and get the wrapping finished (not gonna happen but I can dream) and must do my nieces Christmas Eve Box and get it in the post.
