That certainly sounds like a New Year to remember! New Orleans fascinates me, especially the French Quarter as it's always portrayed as being very tolerant of Witchcraft and Paganism and, of course, although Voodoo is often shown in a bad light with black magic, it's still piques my interest. The food though, Cajun food would definitely not be for me as I am a complete spice wimp! To have been able to immerse yourself in the culture, to be in there at New Year, must have been quite a sight to see. They do say "never say never" right? A return trip then? Poor mom, that's not the best start to 2026. Perhaps she'd slept awkwardly and her arm will improve as the days goes on. I used to be a PA to a group of social workers and most of our clients were elderly.

One of the exercises they used to tell them to do was to hold a tin of something in each hand, like a tin of beans, about 400g/500g each. Hold their arms out in front of them, about shoulder height, and curl their arms in towards their chest. Repeat the action, at a measured pace, maybe 10 times to start. More if it's too easy, less if it's too hard. After a little rest, bring their arms round to their sides and, keeping the arms straight, raise them outwards, aiming to get to shoulder height in a smooth, steady move. Repeat for the same number of times, adjusting to ability. If holding a can is too difficult at first, do the same exercises but holding nothing. They can be done sitting down as long as they're sitting upright with a straight back. Ta-da 😂😂😂

You're absolutely allowed the odd indulgence, especially to welcome in the New Year! I'll be interested to know if you do find the orange Bailey's anywhere. The roast was lovely, thank you, with a rather impressive Yorkshire pudding. I didn't eat it all though, I saw a trifle in the fridge and had to leave room for that 😂😂😂 Thank you, knitting will be the plan tonight as I've been very lazy the past few days!! xx
