How lovely to be an animal whisperer! I only speak to the crows and our to doggers, but the communication is so meaningful.

How wonderful to have made that connection with the Kestrel. My great uncle wrote books for adults and children. He wrote about his wife’s childhood memory of rescuing a kestrel and releasing it when it healed. The book was My Bird is Romeo. He also wrote about the Goatboy of Brooklyn and the use of mules to move barges up and down the canals in New York (Canalboat to Freedom). He also played multiple stringed instruments and would have  “hoe downs” with neighbors who also played. He was a bit larger than life in person and in print.
My daffodils survived the cold snap and the Lenten roses are blooming red and white.
