It would have given the clover if it was a four-leaved one, but when you  harvest the plant, you lose the effect unless you save it with stardust first.

@Dena, yes, you cannot tell if it is a four Jeff until it's fully grown.

Sorry, I've no idea how to do this. I can click on the link and it takes me to the plants wirh the code but where exactly do I put the code. I've been off FL for a few years and have just recently come back and seem to have forgotten everything.  Thank you for  your help.

You have to accept a different gift from a friend, then edit the URL as explained in the post I linked to change the gift code - scroll down to the bottom of the first page and there's a post that describes the process.
