Hi, to get a background effect in your garden, you have unfreeze your garden, let the plants grow, then, if you have the correct plant in the correct pot, it will create a background effect, usually when it is ready for harvest (you can visit this site to see all the effect that can be created and how to create them http://www.freedomfairies.com/special-effects.html
Once you have an effect in your garden, it will usually last for some days, then wears off. To keep it forever you then need to "freeze the Background Effect" (not the garden) by clicking the icon with the green sparkles under your garden, there you can see all the effects currently ongoing and to keep them you will have to use a StarDust. With one sprinkle you will save all the effects and they will stay forever untill you decide to maybe remove some. If you create another effect later on, you can add it to the ones already saved by using another stardust sprinkle. Hope this helps :)

So sorry to read about your lovely son 💜 My heart goes out to you. My twin sister died at 11 months a long time ago now, and my sister just lost her son this last Sunday  he was 43 years. So so sad xxx 💜🖤💜
