I remember about the taxes!  First time i went grocery shopping and had it taxed was surprised as was living in a state that did not tax food items. But WA does have reciprocity with Oregon when shopping. Show an Oregon drivers license and no sales tax!  Loved that feature. We have no sales tax here in Oregon as you might remember.

I am in Grants Pass. It's about 50 miles or less north of the California border. The city has a population of about 38,000 and the area around it has a lot of farming communities. Pretty nice place to live.

Not sure where Everett is. My brother lived in Port Townsend for many years and I visited there several times over that time. Would have loved to be able to move there, but too expensive for my income!

My fur baby not so much. She has been in a mostly protective mode since I adopted her in 2017. Before that she had been physically abused, rescued, then abandoned and rescued again, both times by a relative of mine. I took her in from that relative because one of her many dogs had delivered 8 puppies and they now had a total of 13 dogs! Reesees has been more in protect mode than support mode ever since. So much so that she barks at every body and every thing that goes by my front window. Live in a small complex of 4 duplex units separated by a driveway, so all have to pass that window coming and going.So I have a barking record of the comings and goings of the other residents on a daily basis :-)
