An Individualized Education Program (IEP) is a legal document that outlines the special education services, supports, and instruction a student needs to succeed in school. lEPs are created for public school children who have significant learning challenges due to developmental or emotional disabilities, or learning difficulties. IEPs are free for families and are covered by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Even though Alina has this I haven’t seen anything come from it so it’s kind of disappointing. I had read that a parent of a child on the spectrums life is similar to those in combat and I can totally see that in my son’s situation. As your grandson, Alina also doesn’t sleep well. It’s a common trait with someone who is autistic. She also doesn’t eat well. She has an aversion to lots of foods so she is limited to what she will eat. She is healthy and at a good weight so I am grateful for that. I pray everyday that there will be a breakthrough for her especially with her speech. She says a few words but it’s hard to understand her. I will say extra prayers for your grandson and daughter and keep them in my thoughts. 💜
