Hi Evelyn, I think I remember mum mentioning a tube going into dad's abdomen, he had something similar for about six months or so before he was given the permanent catheter. The whole home dialysis thing is still a touchy subject between mum and I. I understand that, for her, she doesn't see it as something they needed to discuss. She's his wife, she's cared for him for over 50 years so why would this be any different. I can't look at it like that. He should have asked her. It's a huge responsibility. And what if, goddess forbid, something happens because of something she did or didn't do? She has to live with that. I don't care that if he'd asked her, her decision would have been the same, he should have considered her. What she'll have to take on. Sorry.

As you can tell, I'm still pretty upset. *Annnnnd breathe* I have a telephone consultation 🙄 with a GP sometime on the Thursday (that's not me being vague, that's literally what I have - an phone call from someone at sometime!! Another thing I'm fuming about. I received a frigging text message telling me I was pre-diabetic and needed a fasting blood test. Then I received a TEXT message with a downloadable leaflet about pre-diabetes (too pissed off to read it yet) and my appointment, a month later! And the bit that has me seething? Apparently I've been pre-diabetic since 2024! I looked back on my blood tests on the NHS app.🤬🤬🤬🤬 But enough of my blood moaning and whinging, sorry to unload like that lovelie.

You must be looking forward to your friend arriving, I have to be honest, if it was me and the option was a log burner and wine over going out, I'd be praying for snow 😉😂 It's been absolutely lovely here today, not been able to say that for a while! No rain and sun, actual sun in the sky and it was warm not just there for decoration 🤣 Everyone's gone up so that's my cue to have a sneaky Pepsi Max and a treat, Cadbury Creme Egg today I think, making the most of it!! Hi Evelyn, we have had a bit of news today about the scooter. They are going to collect the damaged one , we dont even have to repack it. They are replacing the scooter , unpacking and assembling it. Even making sure it runs as it should ..without charge . This may not be on the same day, so l will make sure l get a receipt if the collection day is first. I think this is the least they should do , after all its not a cheap thing to purchase. Good for Colin l hope he gave them hell, l am glad he got it sorted and the table was replaced. We havent got a date yet but they will phone us to make the arrangements. I am more settled about it now, got my old one going. l hope we hear soon though. xx

Hi Evelyn, I don't know what dialysis dad will be on (I didn't know there was a difference) as mum asked me to visit with Kim the day the specialist nurse visited. All I can tell you is it's done overnight, every night and that we'll need a huge amount of storage space for the THIRTY boxes of supplies he'll need each month. That in itself is a logical nightmare as we literally have no room anywhere. What else? Oh something about each "bag" holding five litres and there'll be two each morning and I'm pretty sure, not one hundred percent but pretty sure mum said she can flush what's in the bags down the toilet, does that help? I can't remember if I mentioned it last time but his last lot of bloods showed his Bicarbonate levels are too low and he now needs meds for that.

There was all a hint of a suggestion in his paperwork that home dialysis may now not be an option. I honestly don't know if he will agree to treatment if that's the case! Oh my goodness, that's terrible! After such a selfless and potentially life-threatening act. It never ceases to amaze how truly awful people can be to one another 😢 Good for Colin for having principles! Started the blue round of butterflies today and got triplets with my first one! I honestly can't believe it. And I remembered what you said about repeating the Ugly Bug Ball quest and I think this is my fourth time already. My times fluctuate but they've all been well within the forty minutes so I'm happy 😊
