2. We got the new car yesterday. Colin drove it out of town and pulled in to a picnic place so I could get a shot of it. I got to the junction at the dual carriageway, the road was busy, a car pulled up behind me, the engine cut out and I couldn't get the car started again. So we had to swap places and Colin got it going. Only them did I notice he had actually moved the "gearstick" from "drive" to "park" which is presumably why it wouldn't start. Anyway I drove it to the hairdresser's yesterday, took him in to work today, then went to the physio and all was fine. I think I'll really like the automatic. I don't feel, apart from when I first get into the driver's seat and have to adjust it behind Colin, that I'm looking for the clutch or gearstick and I thought that would be a problem. I had imagined me stamping on the brake pedal with my left foot but I'm not. We just did the PX as well. There were going to be issues with the private number plate with we buy any car so it was quicker & easier just to do a straight swap at the garage. They gave Colin a new number plate for the boat trailer & we also got the old 74 plates from the Skoda so when we come to change the car again at least we have the original plates this time x

Hello, I have at last found a spare hour. I'm just home from the physio at my GP surgery. He said although I have moderate arthritis in my right hip I have a good range of movement, probably due to the regular exercise classes & dog walking. He said the list for seeing an orthopaedic surgeon and also the waiting list for surgery is now much shorter, probably because of the new NTC in Inverness so I said I was happy to wait until my hip was worse. It is actually a lot better now than it was a year or 2 ago which I put down to taking Turmeric every day. So he gave me a few more exercises to do at home & said I can phone any time to get another appointment with him. I'm getting my feet/nails done at 1530 so having a quick coffee and sandwich now. I hope you have now got an appointment to see or speak to your GP about the results of your CT & also your iron levels. I had my hair cut yesterday. I stopped colouring it during COVID so I'm now 2 toned grey, silver & smokey grey. The hairdresser yesterday said lots of younger women pay to get their hair dyed grey! Unbelievable. I only did the easy and the intermediate quest once each. I might try and move my Top Ellie on seeing as it's a woody next & I have (unintentionally) a RFH Bonsai. Karen is back home. She moved back after they had their evening meal on Tuesday & she said Ian & Catriona were back in their own room, the one Karen was in, that same night. Lol x

3. We have gone for a Skoda Karoq, 8 months old, 4000 miles on the clock. It's a 2 litre turbo diesel, 4 wheel drive, automatic. The new V5 came through yesterday so hopefully the car will be ready for us on Wednesday morning. We have an appointment at "We Buy any car" tomorrow morning - online they are offering us £1885 more than the Skoda dealer is offering as a trade in. I think the offer will probably come down a little when they see the car as that's what they seem to do & it does have a few tiny little dings in the bodywork from sitting in Tesco carpark but as long as they offer more than Skoda we will take it. Thomas is here Tues & Wed. I have an appt with the physio at my GP surgery on Thursday plus I'm getting my feet "done" later that day. I go every 6 weeks now as I struggle to reach the toes on my right foot to cut them & the girl makes a really good job. My feet feel like as soft as a babies when she's finished. I need to try & fit in a hair cut as well, maybe on Friday. Yes Lex is home every day, usually several times but he's still not keen on coming in to the house & prefers to eat outside. He still clearly visits someone some days. I can tell by how smooth & shiny his coat is but I don't mind as long as they don't lock him up in their house x

2.  Like you we also have quite a busy week. Colin is still working on the main bathroom in his Mums. The plumber fitted the new shower tray, which only arrived on Friday, yesterday. The remaining porcelain & wet wall is getting delivered tomorrow morning so Colin will be busy on Tuesday & Wednesday. Ian & Catriona are going to a villa in Portugal this coming weekend for 2 weeks so Karen needs to get back to her own house. I think Catriona is quite relieved this holiday, which is for her 60th birthday, was already booked. The water is on again in Karen's & she has another 2 toilets plus a walk in shower so there's no reason for her not to be home now but she seems quite reluctant even although it's over 8 weeks since her hip was done. We are changing the car on Wednesday. It's 6 years old but has only done 37,000 miles & we had no plans to change it for a year or 2. However Colin was wanting to get an old 4x4 for pulling the boat & launching it from slipways when he takes it fishing but I wasn't keen - I feel you are taking on someone elses problems when buying an older vehicle with a high mileage plus 2 lots of insurance, tax, MOT, servicing/maintenance etc so the compromise is changing the car for one that will also be ideal for the boat....

Hi Linda, I haven't been here much either but I have only had 2 days of returns to clear this morning. 8 days must have been quite a chore! I don't return sprinkles to new visitors who have regular food in their gardens. I have enough of my own "regulars" who only ever put out regular food, without adding more regular food gardens to my routine return visits. Likewise I don't sprinkle those who only ever visit me when I have advertised something they need. I recognise a lot of their names now & although I have always returned their visits in the past they don't come back to mine until/unless I have what they are looking for. That's fine, we all play differently & it saves a little gold. The days we have Thomas I don't really have time through the day for FL & by the time he goes home I don't have the energy or the inclination. I have done the easy quest for June once & am currently doing the intermediate quest. I would like a second tiger, kangaroo & ellie vase but don't know if I can be bothered repeating them now, although it's good that you can store them & just take them out as & when you feel like it.
