Oh that is good news!  I'm sure the physical therapy plus walking will help alleviate the pain. When I walk I don't have the pain but not walking as much as I used to because of my bad feet. How does she feel about limiting her work hours?

I'm glad the results of the scan came in; I do hope when she goes on Tuesday the doctor will give her some acceptable options for treatment. As I've been a health care worker for many years I do advise that if surgery is suggested, she should have a second opinion.

Oh that is too bad; I have osteoarthritis of the spine so I can imagine the pain your daughter is in. I sincerely hope that they can do something to give her some relief. Will pray for her

I totally agree with you; some of tday's adult children seem to forget that they should take care of their parents like their parents took care of them. I took care of both of my parents during their final days and though it was difficult (especially with my Mom) I would never have considered not doing it. I even postponed surgery that I needed until my Mom had passed because I didn't want her to worry about me and as the insurance did provide caretaker help at night I could not ask my brothers to take care of her physical needs. Your husband does need to take of himself too - for your sake, his Dad's and his own.

How wonderful that your father-in-law is still able to live on his own with some help from your husband. I don't blame him for wanting to stay in his home. My neigbor (and friend) was 92 and was constantly falling. She would call me day and night after crwaling to her phone to ask me to come and pick her up. I did this several times and told her she really couldn't be alone anymore but she did not want to leave her house. She could have moved in with her son and his family but did not want to. He moved over two hours away and wasn't helping her much. One day after she had fallen the second time in a week I insisted she tell her son and she called him while I was there. I talked to both him and his wife and they were difficult to speak to although they thanked me for helping her. I told her the next time she fell I was going to call an ambulance. The next night around 9 her son called me and said he had not been able to reach her the entire day. I hadn't checked on her because I figured he was in touch with her since she had fallen the day before. I was furious that he waited the entire day. I went over there and found her on her back on the bathroom floor (no phone nearby) and I ca
