I'm trying to find sources that say Charles Simpson did arrive with Daniel Boone in 1773.  You would think a man with so many descendants would have written up the stories.  I'm also frustrated by bad family trees posted by others.  There is confusion over his name - it may be Charles Simpson or William Charles Simpson or Charles Foster Simpson.  I think people have confused two or three men and this is frustrating.  I can say I can clearly see the use of family names via the Simpsons and Harris to the Lessly family.  The Lessly favored John, James and Andrew.  But it was Emily Harris who brought in the names Charles and George and those clearly come from Charles Simpson and his wife Margaret. Oh! And even better this Simpson line traces to Scotland too.  They are allegedy a sept of clan Fraser. LOL - like in the Outlander books/tv show.  Too funny.

My ggg grandparents were James Elkins Lessly and Emily Harris.  I've always concentrated more on James and the Scottish connection.  But I was able eventually to figure out that Emily's parents were John and Mary Harris.  They appear in the 1850 census in Missouri and then are seen no more.  Still trying to find a will or something. Anyway John was born 1784 in NC and Mary was born in KY in 1786.  That's fairly early to be born in KY but that doesn't mean they knew Daniel Boone.  Harris is so common so I despaired of finding out more on either.  Then Ancestry threw a hint at me which I disdained but upon closer inspection it turned out to be plausible.  Ancestry suggested that Mary was the daughter of Charles Simpson and Margaret Harris.  Mary was the last of 10 children - all of whom are alleged to have been born in KY.  The first child was born in 1773 - and now that IS Daniel Boone territory. Now to begin with there is indeed a marriage record for one John Harris and one Mary Simpson in the county in which Charles and family lived.  Also Charles' name is listed on the record.  To seal the deal I sussed out that I have 9-14 DNA matches with 3 diffenent sibling of Mary Simpson. That's 9-14 matches per sibling. I'm still looking for more information.  But I'm excited!

The world just keeps getting more horrifying.  From the invasion of Venezuela to the ridiculous threats to Greenland to the murder of that poor young mother by ICE agents in Minneapolis today -- and all the lying, evil, corrupt, perverted, morally bankrupt and feckless individuals who are running our country and either encouraging or allowing this garbage. . . I just have no words.  My heart is aching...

thanks for the tip on attracting a festive unicorn.  I have this bad habit of reading the 'attraction" blurb too fast and getting it wrong.  In my mind I saw "poinsettia and complete trees with gifts". So that's why I got out all of the trees.  Then I read your comment and reread the wildlife description and saw that I had it wrong!!  "This years tree"!!!  Thanks again!!
