Hi Rudy, I've just come on to try and distract myself for a few minutes, from this very sad day. Lorraine passed away in her sleep last night. We all went for lunch on Sunday and she had gone and had her hair done, and we were planning her 80th birthday celebration which is coming up.

Some sad news Rudy, Paul got home from work this afternoon and found Jess had died, she was fine before he went to work but only ate half of her breakfast before going on her cat tree, she was in the hallway when he got home, tomorrow Beloved Pets are coming to collect her 😢😢

No, this is not a natural occurrence. This is apparently 3 large cold fronts hitting us back to back. Last night was terrible. Winds so strong I was reminded of the tropical storms I'd experienced in Bermuda. Roofs were ripped off in so many areas. So much more rain too. An entire area was evacuated because a dam burst. Luther drove through flood water getting to work this morning and had to dodge the debris in the roads. There are shelters, and many places have become makeshift shelters.

Not improved here, much worse. Day 4 of rain. 2 massive storms and constant rain inbetween. 4 rivers have burst their banks. Lots of major roads flooded. Many, many homes affected. Mudslides and trees uprooted. All okay in our area, but about 3 more days of rain predicted. Lots of snow, not too far from us now, so freezing cold too. At work yesterday morning there was such a storm raging, that we had leaks and rivers of water running across the floor in Docs consulting area, which we had to mop up between patients. Our rooms are top floor and on a corner. Have a good day :)

Good evening Rudy, yes, San Francisco was beautiful and Steve was able to have his MRI, at the VA. How are you doing?

So, I think we have a diagnosis. Lorraine has been on medication for years for Atrial fibrillation, without ever seeing a Specialist (her general practitioner prescribed it) and that's the issue now, so they are trying new meds. Her heartbeat was irregular and too fast. Her Dr should have monitored her, we even noticed she's always short of breath, and huffing and puffing. Hopefully she's on the road to recovery now ;) 

I went into work yesterday (at 07:45) to hand over to Jean, from my week of working alone last week, and intended to be home again by 09:30 latest. I got home at 13:30 and no, I didn't work. My sisters mom-in-law was admitted the evening before (we ended up in the Emergency Unit with her on Sunday afternoon) and I went to see her. My sister was working so I stayed with Lorraine until the Dr had done his rounds. My sister did make it in time to chat with the Dr but I stayed as well. Lorraine had a fall on Saturday night (quite bad) and didn't tell anyone, until she started feeling wonky on Sunday. She's now in Intensive Care. Keeps passing out as soon as she tries to sit up. They are running all kinds of tests. She's 79.
