Glad to help -- once you get the hang of it, it isn't difficult, just kind of tedious!

Yes -- the first time, I didn't waste a seed by dumping the hive, but just hoped the red hive would attract at least one orange, then I used the hive with one orange and built up from there.

Don't dump your hives -- the bears will come to the ones that are full of red.  And the Queen Bee requires mixed hives, so it helps to have them in your storage until you're sure you have everything you need!

Each level up (orange after red, for example) is attracted by a full hive of the previous color.

So -- using an all-hive, you keep attracting bees to a new hive.  (Usually people dump the hive if the first bee that shows up isn't an orange.)  Gradually you make hives that have more and more orange, until you have one that is all orange.

For example, if you make a hive which has one orange plus the rest red, it at least has a stronger orange attraction than an all red hive.  Then you try to build the next hive to have at least two orange, then it will be a stronger orange attraction, and so on, until you have a hive that is all orange.  Then you start the process all over trying to get yellow to show up to your all-orange hive.

It takes a lot of honey blossom seeds and hives, obviously, but it isn't quite as bad as it sounds.  The "higher" the color, though, the more difficult it is to get the next color to show up.
