Afternoon xxx  I use to work at the Rochester P&D processing facility.  When I first started is when automation was just getting started.  Then out new facility was built and I went there.  We have 5 letter sorting machines, a parcel sorting machine and a flat sorting machine.  It was crazy.  Amazon wasn't as big as it is now.  The USPS took all the parcels when UPS went on strike  Those all had to be sorted by had, because automation hadn't arrived.  Those were along hard days.  I ran all the machines, did mail handler, did scheme work, payroll as well as a Tour 1 supervisor as a 204B.  As my boss called me a Jack of all trades and a master of none.  He loved it because I could do everything.  I loved my job, but the facility was closing in 2013.  There were 109 coworkers that they would not help find other facilities to go to.  It was a crazy time.  There were 2 Rochester PO I could have gone to, but I had my 30 years and my age, so I said see ya.  There are only a hand full of coworkers that I miss.  I loved the job.  Hang in there, it's almost over.  Proud of you for doing what your doing at your age.  I was working part time at Kwik Trip when I retired and went full time at Kw

LOL LOL It would help if I would read your message better.  I'm surprised your done before Xmas.  Our seasonal help would start at Thanksgiving and go until New Years.  Then they were given the chance to stay on if they wanted.  You go girl, you're almost done.  xx

I should have asked if you were at the Saint Paul office or the Eagan office?  Do you get to work through New Years?

What office are you at?  I can totally relate.  My first month was December.  I had 3 days off and worked anywhere from 10-14 hours a day.  Uncle Sam loved my pay check.  Yes overnights are not for everyone.  Hang in there, it wil be over shortly.  xxx 

Just noticed your posting about working overnights.  I worked overnights for the Postal Service for 30 years.  I loved it.
