What can run but never walks, has a mouth but never talks, has a head but never weeps, has a bed but never sleeps?

Todays is:-

My strength is powerful and great,
'Tis tru, altho' it seemeth strange,
I carry many thousand weight,
With which I many miles do range.
Whene'er I reach my journey's end
With all my speed I hasten home;
And tho' I often man befriend,
I sometimes also seal his doom.
