Severus Snape had spent months trying to figure out the spheres found in the kobolds' mines. At first, he had worked alone, tried every curses and enchantments he knew (and he knew a vast variety of them). It hadn't given any fruit, the spheres remained unchanged and his frustration grew.
Now he had conceided that he needed help and he had welcomed the few wizards and witches who were interested in solving the mystery.
