Hello Ed, TY for the P-P. Jamieson and Mansfield are part of the High Country. Mt. Buller and Mt. Sterling tower above and we could always see snow on them during the Winter. It would only take 30 minutes to drive to the snow. Teaching there meant a weekly trip to the snow for a day's skiing. I hated down hill skiing but enjoyed Cross Country skiing. Well you do seem to have grown up with celebratries in your midst. Curious as to why you didn't like Richard Osman. He certainly creates unlikeable characters in his books. Not to put you off reading one. The 4 main characters in The Thursday Murder Mystery Club are likeable retirees who just happen to enjoy solving old unsolved murders. The man that owns the retirement village is not nice and sort of reminds me of the man who owns Mum's village. I am sure that you are pleased about sorting out the credit card situation. Today I MUST complete my filing of admin. At the moment it is covering my dining table and Lynne will arrive on Saturday so I had better get on with it. Have a great day.

Morning splash--field mouse ty We haave a nice sunny morning but if the forecast is right then we are in for rain. That US open to me was a farce and terrible for golf. No you don't want a major to be easy but that was a totally demoralizing thing. Good shots were not rewarded and you never knew where the golf ball was going ot where it would end up. That rain storm at the end where no one could even see what they were aiming  at and flooded parts of the course only added to the mess.I didn't even watch the end!! I hope you can have a good Monday--me I have to try and do some stuff around here and just to mix things up the nurse is supposed to come today. The doctor ordered the nurses to come every 3 days so now my schedule is going to be all mixed up. Have a good day

Hello Ed, TY for the mouse. Yes it is cold here and not yet Mid Winter. This morning walking to the coffee shop I could have been blown over by the wind. I think that your Winters are more severe and once upon a time when I lived in the High Country I coped with the cold and sometimes snow. I would swim in my pool and then warm up in front of the fire. I am getting softer now. Dinner now done and I will soon be in bed with a book. Today as well as being excited about my chat with the customer I found 2 books by Richard Osman. The first of 'The Thursday Murder Club.' Once again set in a retirement village. I read the 3rd book earlier this year and loved it. As I do not have it on my shelf I guess that it was loaned to me. I also found the first book of 'The Number 1 Ladies Detective Agency.' Purchased that even though I have read it. Finished reading 'The Tears of the Giraffe.' this morning. Second reading and still loved it. Wishing you a wonderful day.

Hello Ed, you and Tracey certainly have a special father / daughter relationship. And how lovely for you walking with her and seeing how many people greeted her.  I am home again after working at the Charity Shop. Today I spotted a lady looking at the books and as I have seen her here on ther days I said, "Hello." We got chatting and discovered that we have a lot in common. I would have loved to have been sitting down with her chatting over a cup of coffee. Meeting new people is one of the many joys of working at the shop. Enjoy your day.
