Carrie, I have heard that story before. I was told that Ozzie's dad was only 4 pounds and his mom was 5. No one bothered to tell him he was supposed to be small. 🤣 I knew Lilly's parents and we would keep them for our friends who traveled quite a bit. Both are about 10 and 11 pounds. But Lilly at 9 months old she has not reached 7 pounds yet. Ozzie has a very different bone structure than she does. Not tall but broad and bulky. Lilly actually flies though the air right at our faces for a kiss.
I now believe that inherited genes are a tumble of the dice that pick up traits from ancestors not even know about. If a female dog can have pups from different dads, imagine what that could mean down the line for all her pups and their pups.
But it matters not to me when I hold them and feel their sweet little bodies when they lay their heads on my shoulder.❤️❤️❤️
It is hot as blazes here too. Maybe it will be a Long Hot Summer! Hugs to Opie and Sammy and stay cool and I just hope the fireworks don't upset every dog in our small neighborhood.
