Good Morning sprinkles Carrie! 
I know hot and humid can pull the energy right out of anyone.  It even makes it hard to breathe.  Most people around here have a swimming pool in their back yard but we don't have one.  I never miss it until the days get so hot you can't get comfortable anywhere.  July, August are the worst but we make up for it in the winter as we almost never have to pull out our coats. 
We bought Ozzie and Lilly a little pool to put on the back deck to play in.  Ozzie loves water so Lilly follows. 
It sounds like there is always something exciting going on where you live.  I know July 4th will be amazing until the fireworks begin.  I am not looking forward the late night popping and all the poor little animals feeling so much fear. 
But none the less, I hope we all have a great time and that sweet little Opie and Sammy don't get too upset!
