Hi Shirley,  we're having another heat wave here as well.   It's supposed to last into Saturday, not fun at all.  I made some blackberry jam yesterday.  I had bought two flats of fresh blackberries, so I made up 6 jars of jam and froze the rest of the berries.  I haven't made jam in nearly 30 years! It was a bit runny but tastes lovely.   I got a food mill to smush up the berries and I also got a steam canner which worked like a charm and is much better than lugging giant pots of water to the stove.  Love & Hugs to you!
