When you first heard of me there would be a curious invocation,
Perhaps plucking moments and strumming memories from past observations -
A minor or major device to prevent escape and maintain operation.
But neither a liege icon, or ancient instructions sent by private post,
Has saved this harmless innocence from becoming hunter's boasts -
Jarring images of red and white is all that remains of their hope.
