What is the gold dust good for if you cant sprinkle it on friends gardens? I tried to use my gold dust from harvested plants, but it says I can only sprinkle purchased gold dust? So, what can I do with the gold dust besides just let it sit?

Reviving Dead Plants

Your plants are extremely unlikely to die in Fairyland (unless you have a "private" Garden), but if they do, you can revive them with Gold Dust!

Changing Flower Colour/Type

For some flowers (ones which come in multiple colours or types) you can sprinkle Gold Dust to change them to a different colour - which is useful when you need to collect a "set" of different ones in order to level up. Colours will change in order - and that order is predictable, so for example, the Bellis Lycaena comes in the 7 colours of the rainbow, so those colours change in rainbow order: ROYGBIV.
