Is there anything that anyone knows of to help get a Violet Chick?  I've had 6 Violet Eggs and not one Violet Chick.  I need HELP!

Thanks Sonja, just read through the entire thread and I guess the bottom line is that it's a matter of luck.  I will try the Indigo & Violet theory, and keep my fingers crossed

I and my good friend both tried the Indigo and violet theory and it WORKED!

Just do take care that the violet egg MUST crack FIRST.

I wasted the first lot by thinking it was the other way around. The Indigo nearly always wobbles first, then you need to throw out the unused food and put new in and hope like mad the next time it will work.

We both kept replacing - I can't remember how many I did but it took me three days. In between when I was not on fl to keep an eye on it I would dump the bird seed and put out veg so others could get Bunnies.

Ok, but how do I get a violet egg? I've spotted all colours and have atrackted all the other colours except violet?!

Which colour egg you get is random, Luan, so you just need to keep spotting bunnies until you get the colour you need.

i'm getting plenty of violet eggs but not the violet chicks! 2 in my garden now, am hoping one of them is a violet chick. Can't find an indigo egg to save my life,lol

Kristi - any colour egg will increase the chances of a violet chick but the higher the better.  For example, with only a violet egg the program has a 1 in 7 chance of giving you a violet chick (about 14%).  If you also have another egg (e.g. yellow) then the number of possible chicks to hatch from the violet egg goes down to 4.  That means you then have a 1 in 4 chance (25%) of a violet chick from the violet egg (assuming it hatches first, which is down to luck).  Here's the chances of violet from a violet egg when you have a second egg in the garden:

SECOND EGG COLOUR
Red - 1 in 6 chance of violet chick from violet egg (17%)
Orange - 1 in 5 chance of violet chick from violet egg (20%)
Yellow - 1 in 4 chance of violet chick from violet egg (25%)
Green - 1 in 3 chance of violet chick from violet egg (33%)
Blue - 1 in 2 chance of violet chick from violet egg (50%)
Indigo - 1 in 1 chance of violet chick from violet egg (100%)

Solutions for indigo and other chicks - from Fairyland Forums:
1) get the egg colour the same as the colour chick you need
2) get the next egg colour down the 'rainbow' in another nest in your garden
3) wait for an alert.. IF the lower egg colour wobbles first (NOT the one you want) dump the food and put new out.. do not let the lower egg hatch.
4) if the higher colour egg hatches first.. it will be that coloured chick, as the lower egg 'locks in' all the other lower oloured chicks.

it does require some plate dumping but has worked beautiffully for me

so to get
violet chick - need violet and indigo egg
indigo chick - indigo and blue egg
blue chick - blue and green egg
green chick - green and yellow egg
yellow chick - yellow and orange egg
orange chick - orange and red egg

Really want to thank everyone for the information...once I rebuild all my nests I will go for it!
