We didn't have room for the frog deterrent but we've NEVER had this happen before... what are my options at this point? We do want to do Frog Breeding sometime soon so if we take out the teacup and got underwater can we make use of it? I've no idea how to do Frogs and don't understand the counting thing but maybe someone can help please?

Yes you can go underwater and attract tadpoles to the spawn, no other attractant plants needed for them.

And since you haven't done frog breeding, you don't need to worry about counting numbers at this stage, just get some tadpoles and later when you are ready, you can attract froglets and underwater frogs to get your spawn underwater.
