If I want to splurge and buy super food which I don’t do often and I want to use Stardust to do that and then I want to complete two different tasks with it if I bought a plate of food and I finish up one quest and then I immediately start another quest. Can someone explain to me what it means when people say that plates are already loaded for some thing else? Like if I have one more thing I need to do on this quest I buy some super food, and then immediately start my next quest and set up my garden differently. Are the plates loaded for something else? I don’t understand what it means when a plate is pre-loaded for some thing does that mean you can’t switch up your garden while you still have a plate

The plates are programmed one feed at a time.  If the plate already has a critter programmed and you change your garden so that critter is no longer attracted, it will still visit that one last time.  No, you don't need to dump the food, as that one feed (per table) is the only one which might have 'old' wildlife on it.

Depending on when you change up your garden, and how long the food has been out, it could still attract whatever you were set up previously - but only for that next feed.   Then the new plants will be "programmed in" to the next feed.
