I'm struggling to attract the necessary wildlife to my garden with my current Club cards. What strategies can I use to create an environment that draws in the specific creatures I need to progress and support their ecosystem?

You need to put out the afternoon tea rather than the comfits. 

How do I unlock the afternoon tea food in the game? I'm wondering if I need to attract the spade critters in my garden before I can access the food items.

From what i see, you have the correct food but the wrong cards....you need cards from the diamond suit, for a start. I wouldn't worry about tables etc. you need to have comfits and look for diamond cards.

Also, you can't access the next level food until you've the level before it. You also need to make sure that you spot at least one of each main character in each level otherwise you can have done all the work of attracting in your garden etc. and think that you can move up to the next level but you won't have access to it.

I may be wrong....i did Alice recently but it traumatised me haha but you have only attracted a few of the caucus race characters.....you need to continue with that, surely. I'm sure someone will correct me....

Yes, i just double checked the forums on Google and you can't access any food except comfits because you haven't finished the first level....caucus race......

You have the wrong suit cards. A Caucus Race is diamonds with comfits. You need to attract 10 of each critter at each level before you move on to the next suit/food. A Caucus Race is completed once you attract 10 each of The Mouse, The Lory and The Dodo with diamond cards after which the Mad Hatters Tea Party unlocks. Next you’ll hunt spades and use tea for food. You’ll then need to attract 10 each of The Mad Hatter, The March Hare and The Dormouse after which the next race and food unlock and you carry on with the remaining two sets to the end.
