You can't open the gift until Christmas day.  Until then you can still use last year's tree.

You can open any new gifts until Christmas Day.  You can try, but it won’t work.  As long as you keep at least one of your NEW Christmas trees, you’ll get the gift.  Everyone is assuming that it will be free superfood and access to the Festive Unicorn, but we don’t actually know. All will be revealed on Christmas Day x

I just want to attract the unicorn and have built 5 trees so I’m hoping I can open one present for the unicorn and still be able to open on one Christmas.

Last year, you opened the gift of one newly completed tree and that gave you both the free superfood and the festive unicorn. Additional trees, didn't give you anything additional.  The one new tree will be the same this year, but what the free gift that it brings is, we will find out on Christmas Day x

If you click on the gift now, it won't open.  You will just get the message stating open it on Christmas Day.
