It lasts for a week.  You can stardust an older Hallowe'en plant to bring the witches back, or you can stagger planting new plants to make sure you've always got one ready.  Or you can just stardust the background when your plant is still producing it, and it will keep attracting without having to keep stardusting the plant.

If you Stardust the background and keep the plant for ever or save It in greenhouse to put It out any Time of the year you Will get Halloween pestys.. not having to Stardust the plant all the time

For example I Stardusted the winter background for that reason so everytime I put out a Tree I can attract winter pestys in this case I do not need the plant .. but for Halloween pestys you attract them with plant so you have to save at least in greenhouse
