Imagine how disappointing it is to fill a birdbath with water to attract chicks with superwater, and two chicks show up. What is the average number of chicks per plate of superwater? I would propose that six chicks on a plate of superwater with potential for extras. Now it should be dependent too on how many of the chicks that one's garden has attracted. But all things being equal....
What do others think?
Thanks for allowing me to express my thoughts.

I have actually  had that once and the next bath had 3.  I had to laugh about it or I would have cried... At least the adult birds was high value .

Well they say that the average is 7 … so if you have 2-3 BBs with 3-4 chicks only, then you will get an amazing BB with 10-12 chicks at some point … we can’t have it all at once 😉

I thought the average was 6 to 7 myself Andrea, but got told on another thread that Mike has said the average was 2 to 3, I don't mind saying how very disappointing I found that, as for amazing birdbaths of 10 to 12 chick's in all my years of doing birdbaths I have never ever had that many lol I wish, my last few birdbaths yielded about 3 chicks between them, very disappointing altogether.

Is it a fact that the number of chicks arriving to the birdbath is dependent on the number of chicks which you have attracted in the past?  Or is it completely random?

No, it has nothing to do with how many you've already attracted, other than only attracting the same type of chicks you've already attracted.

Thanks Tracey, there is always a lot of speculation about this topic.

I wonder if Mike would consider 'upping the ante' and letting us have more chicks in a bath? it would make the game much more fun.

I was just going to say that Caryl. I guess these chick vases have made me focus more on the birdbath, but I think it would be nice to expect more than a couple (or few) of them. These vases use a lot of resources, there is the superfood to fill the bath as well as an underwater seed to get you under, it would be nice to get more reward from using them.
