Can someone please remind me what the ultimate end purpose is with the quests?

They are for colouring in the totem poles. Each quest  level completed will allow 1 totem level on either animal or bird totem pole to be coloured in so that the relevant wildlife will be attracted.

I have been away for several months and the ability to stop a quest seems to have gone, only pause available now. is this new? or have I got a glitch?

Hi May - the pause is the new feature - previously we could only work on one quest at a time.  If you are wanting to reset a quest and start again, you need to pause the quest, then go back to view quests and you will the see the option to reset the quest and start again.  This will only show as an option if you have not spotted or attracted anything for the quest.  If you have yet to spot or attract anything simply pausing the quest will reset it and restart the spotting time.

oh great that's really good so I can work on another quest too now. Have been stuck on rainbow for 7 months and just finished today lol

Yep - is great to be able to swap between mutilple quests!
