I know that the shapes are in the right positions from attracting these candy creatures / red and yellow cherry moles / red candy devils / yellow lollipups and blue sugarsnout ans blue jellybeak , from berries , bird mix and tropical.

Square - 1st position
pentagon - 2nd position
triangle - 3rd position

so I put out Veg to attract the veg creatures - sweetooth and chocbugs and none come - just mice

I am obviously still working hard to get the right colours but takes time to get the seeds - but why am i getting no veg creatures on those plates at all when i know the positions are correct?

Each type of candy critter needs its own setup of 3 candies.
If you tried those 3 candies in all possible locations with all types of food and got no hits on the veggies then they most likely need different shape (s) of candy(ies).

so 7 types of garden set ups? im well confused now ?

You will, in theory need 7 different setups, yes.
I cannot tell for sure as we all have our own unique setups.

It is likely to be 7 different set ups, yes. You know the first 2 shapes for cherrymoles but not the colours. You know the first shape for candydevils, the second shape for lollipups and the 3rd shape for both sugarsnouts and jellybeaks.

Now you should make a note of the shape, colour and creature attracted and then move the shapes to other positions (if you move the 1st shape to 3rd place then all 3 will change) then try all 4 foods again, this will give you information about which is those shapes is useful in a different position, either to fill gaps in the above or for the 2 missing creatures. Repeat this with the last set of positions (move the new 1st shape to 3rd) and you will know all you can from those 3 plants.

Then plant some new ones and do it again to see what you get. Eventually you will want to hunt the creatures that drop specific shapes so you can try different colours in the known correct positions and eventually you will have all the information you need to attract the Violet of each different creature

thanks again. I am hoping to get a handle on it soon and start making some progress. Feel like i have wasted alot in the last week by not understanding. I have a plant due to ready for harvest in the morning i think its a square hoping for a different colour than the ones ive had so can get correct colour and shape before i start moving around the positions. I also think i need a excel file going forward.

Is it normal, i used to get the candies but all of a sudden it stopped and i get other gritters on plates must i move the plants or the food???

It's normal to get some mice/ducks or dragons, as well as the candies. Your berries are getting no candy critters so it looks your current setup is not attracting any candy wildlife that eats those, but your other plates have had plenty of them.

It's the position of the plants and the types of food that you need to test to see what will come. So when you have tested all four types of food with this setup, you can move your plants into new positions and test the food types again.
