I decided to purchase some gold after years of not doing so, as I wanted that cute bat pot. No games left, no alchemy ingredients etc... The fee for 300 gold is a very reasonable $7 (Aus money) The "transaction fee" is over $17!

Alas, My poor pumpkin will just have to wither.

Unfortunately, some banks charge a fee for converting currency on top of the purchase itself. I know some of my banks charge the higher of 3% or $5 (USD) for foreign transactions.

My bank’s charge is low for overseas transactions compared to some I have heard. Mike can’t do anything about it though!

You should be able to
Get the bat pot without buying gold though!!! Just collect for a bit and hunt wisely, esp in gardens with the snail game. I got both of mine for maybe 50 gold total for both, not for each one! ! Make sure you use all your alchemy ingredients too. Right now I have one dragon scale and that’s it. I couldn’t buy gold this sale but I’m going to get four of each pot for sure. I have 654 gold right now. Good luck! :)

Sally, if you are able to do one of a few different methods of pay (e.g. have a couple different credit cards, also have a debit card, etc.), you might try using one of the other methods.  The transaction fee is charged by the bank; so, if you use a different method of payment from a different bank, you'll get a different (and possibly lower -- or even non-existent) transaction fee.  Another possibility would be to check into buying a Facebook gift card and using that to make your purchase.

Sally,, buy a facebook gift card,, these are perfect and usually the same value across the board without all those transaction fees, xx

if you buy through paypal you dont get a transaction fee.

I'm pretty sure those "transaction fees" are only for mobile phone payments, and only in some countries.

These fees are unfortunately added by your mobile network operator (not by us or by Facebook), and in some countries those companies seem to charge a lot, although the example above for Australia certainly seems extreme!

Wherever possible, we recommend using our PayPal option, which has no additional fees, and is of course very secure.

Yes, I was purchasing through mobile phone. Thanks everyone for your advice. Thanks to Mike for the message too. I will investigate your other payment ideas. :)
