Chameleons spotting requirements

I have attracted 47 red chameleons in my garden, yet when I spotted my 50th chameleon in other's garden it changed my flower to orange. I thought we had to both attract and spot 10 for every color change we did. Do the first 10 I attract unlock the chameleons powers to change my flower's color for each set of 10 I spot?

yes the first 10 you attract unlock all the rest of the flowers changes for that color.

Can you spot ahead of attracting? I have 1 red and 1 orange. Have only 2 orange spotted in my garden, but have spotted 4. Is it okay to spot before attracting?

no if you spot 10 befor you attract 10 it will not count. I spot up to 9 but if I hit 9 beofre I hit 10 attracted I stop hunting until I get 10

So  i have just had my 10 spotted and need to spot 4 more before it changes to orange. Does it matter if more are spotted in mine before i fine 10, or should i just pull the food? many thanks

No, once you've attracted the first ten then the number you have attracted isn't important.

My alert time is 30 mins ,can anyone tell me how to make it 10 please

Janet you click on the info button right next to where it says 30 min alert under your garden description. It gives you the option there to change but it can only be changed when your food plates are empty.

Gosh Im so confused, The more I read the comments , the more confused I get . Is it only the red flower that changes colour (as I notice some gardens have extra red in them) or do all the colours change when you have spotted 10 and 10 has been spotted in your own garden. ?????
