I have a harness that I put on Rylee when he is in the car. It clips him to into a seatbelt buckle. Safety is a big concern for me - it isn't difficult to keep him safe in the car. Rylee hates the harness! I get it out to put on him and he goes into his crate and says - no thank you! I insist and put it on him and take him outside to get in the car. He then turns into "Slug-dog" and collapses in the ground. "Nope - not moving - take it off!" I insist and pick him up with the harness and make him walk - he is still Slug-dog and won't move. I am used to this behavior as Hunter would do something similar - I called it "Rubber dog dead dog" if he didn't want to go where I wanted him to go he would flop onto the ground and refuse. Hunter weighed 100lbs so it was difficult to make him move. Rylee is 35lbs I can move him - "Slug-dog" will not prevail!

It is interesting watching the relationship between Rylee and Grady develop. It started out with Grady ignoring Rylee and Rylee being Rylee insisting that he NOT be ignored!
Now it is Rylee being that little dog prancing beside the big dog with a ball in his mouth saying "Hey Grady Hey Grady lets play ball?!" and Grady saying - "Naw".
Then Grady taking the ball and playing "keep away" with Rylee. Rylee will get the ball and lay beside Grady and roll the ball to Grady and Grady ignores it. When Rylee stops Grady will engage in a wrestling match with Rylee. Always entertaining!

Rylee did well on Saturday at the Sanction Match. He stood and allowed the second judge examine to him and look at his teeth. The first time around was Uncle Chuck and well Rylee turned into a wiggly, squirmy worm and although overjoyed to have the attention would not be still. Grady came along for the ride and barked each time we were in the ring! I am sure he was objecting to the fact that he wasn't going in as well. I am sure he missed his days in the ring. It was a good learning experience for both of us and I am hoping that we will do better at the show this coming weekend in Orillia.
