Well it has been a week. So many of you helped with your kind words and thoughtful suggestions mostly it just helped to talk about it. Rylee is an Australian Cattle Dog and currently weighs approximately 48lbs. 45lbs would be ideal. He stands 21" tall. He's not a big dog - he just has that big dog attitude - which is why we need Obedience Classes. He has been in private lessons over the past years as Covid did not allow for group situations. He does know what to do - he was the only dog in Mondays class that did the "sits and downs" without breaking. I have found another class that starts this coming Monday evening. It is nearer my home and of course costs more.  So onward! Have a great weekend - Happy Friday.

Amid the drama of obedience class Rylee is still pushing through "diet-palooza" with Jojo. No more extra - extra treats - no more toast - no more Zogo treats. Looking at Rylee I am pretty sure he is loosing weight. I wanted to see if we were on the right path. I asked hubby to stand on the scales and when he was ready I picked up Jojo and handed her to him. She doesn't enjoy being picked up so she wiggled in his arms. He had difficulty holding her - a quick look at the scales show - no difference. I grabbed her and set her down. Rylee next - poor hubby trying to hold Rylee - stand on the scale - hold long enough for me to check. Rylee REALLY doesn't like this! He is down at least a pound. Woohoo!  Happy Thursday!

I still surprises me how animals seem to know when you are feeling down. Last night sitting with hubby watching TV I watched as Jojo hopped up onto hubby's lap to walk across him to snuggle beside me! She knew I was upset. Then Rylee curled up beside me to sleep during the night - made it harder for me to toss and turn - which was a good thing as I did manage to get some sleep. The trainers' letter, the events of Monday rolled through my head anytime I was awake. I really love this guy - they are both such a comfort. I will figure out a solution. Happy Wednesday.

This morning I awakened to a refund in my email from the instructor of the obedience class. It seems that the other members of the class were "concerned" about Rylee. I thought he was okay - yes he barked once at a crated dog that startled him but all in all I thought he was fine. When we did recalls he tried to run after the first few dogs - I think he thought it was a game - but I had a good hold on him. So I have to go out and try to find another class. I am rather speechless about this because I really thought he did rather well - for him. Happy Tuesday.

I have been able to put Rylee into an Obedience Class! I'm excited. I'm hoping this will help Rylee socialize with other dogs. We start today Rylee has no idea how his day will go. It's a 5 week Novice class - he has taken novice but I felt he could use the refresher and as I know what is expected it should be easier to deal with his "outbursts" should they come. Hopefully we will do well enough to move forward to the Advanced class in 5 weeks. Onward! Happy Monday.
