We had rain last night, everything looks lush and happy. I took my coffee out to walk around the gardens and field to see if anything else was in the belly of a beast. LOL
The rain must have deterred the critter as there is no new damage ( Yay )  And the temperatures for the coming week are moderate. So that is good. We don't need a repeat year of last or even the wild one before that. I will take low to mid 20's and rain through the week any old day LOL

I hope you are getting some rest and healing. I know its early days yet and you have a ways to go but at least you have some peace of mind after calling your health care provider. Whew.. sometimes things can be so upsetting.

We have Emily tomorrow for the day. She has been staying in the city but is home to visit for the weekend. Katie is now in New Brunswick and on her job. Its not glamorous but it took her a year and a half to find something. They worked at the New Ross Farm ( its a museum type of thing ) for their summers as a student hire but they can't stay if they are not going back to college the next year.
I don't think Emily is even looking for work. She is enjoying her time with friends in the city at the time being but that will only last so long as she is staying free with a friend and the girls roommate will be home later in the summer or early fall. I imagine she will either have to return home or make some sort of arrangement before then. Who knows.. maybe she will get lucky and find something. There are more opportunities in the city then around here for sure.

I know how you feel about a mini green house. I have seen some for sale but our winds here are so strong it would not be in the yard for long unless it was a permanent structure.
Plus I got the potting shed and that is nice . Not good for starting plants but nice still.

Oh how exhausting and I have done that before also.
Wow. Yes please call the doctor right away. That is a bit scary and needs to be dealt with. You do not need an infection or anything going wrong there.

I think its either a porcupine or skunk.  If it was a raccoon they actually use the bathroom right in the garden ruining everything they don't eat.
Skunks usually root for stuff , had them before and tore up the plants but these are ate. So it kind of hints to the porcupine.
Mind you I do have 2 wood chucks who live here but they have the same sleeping pattern as humans.. so they can't be the culprit.

It will take some work later in the fall but it really looks like having some berries out there is a miss.
I did not see any new activity in the squash since I put another fence up. But they have climbed some of those I did in the berry garden a few years ago.
I really try not to get frustrated but holy.. its enough. Year after year.

Let me know about the drain please.

I hope you are resting well.
I am gutted, the strawberries are now on the endangered list again this year.
After this season I believe I am ridding myself of the plants, I will use the boxes for something else. They don't seem to eat potato plants, maybe I will just grow potatoes, Nothing else seems to survive here without the wildlife eating it. And I seem to get more of these creatures each year. I know better then to be upset or depressed about this but I am tired, its so much work. And in the end I have to buy my stuff costing even more. Its time to cut the losses.
Anyway, the sun is shining and I have spent the last 2 hours doing inside/outside chores and now will have something to eat and a coffee. Always feel better with something in our bellies .
