Hi, dear Jackie🖐 If your new baby is a year old, it will be a bit more difficult to train than a younger one. When I brought my Chi home, I took her to a pad I had bought, and she 'peed' immediately, and she kept using pads. She was less than a month old that first time. I was really surprised and happy.
She's now 16 years old.
