Wow!  Go you!!! That is fabulous! I will be curious to hear what your PT says about the right-foot left-foot thing. I'm assuming they're trying to get you to strengthen both sides by changing where you hold the cane, so it would make sense they might ask you to try to strenthen both legs.  As long as you're supported and careful, I guess it makes sense.

I am a hard stick too. If I haven't drunk enough water before getting stuck, my veins are harder to get the first try. Just make sure to drink a big glass of water before getting bloodwork drawn.

Wow ~ that is a lot of good practice.  Made me nervous reading about how far you pushed yourself, but glad everything worked out. 

I can well imagine being nervous in crosswalks. . . I get nervous myself just thinking about your experiences.

It's interesting they're encouraging you to be "ambidextrous" in your use of your cane.  Makes total sense thinking about it, but I am sure it feels like writing using your "wrong" hand. I tried brushing my teeth with my left hand a few years ago when I read an article about challenging your brain by trying new habits to build new synapses and connections.  It didn't take long for me to get impatient and switch back, lol. 

Hope you enjoyed your Christmas celebration ~ we are a small group, but had a good one.  My stepson was with his girlfriend's family in Portland, so we'll probably see them Monday.
