I spotted my 20th, but he didn't lay spawn. Did I need to be underwater? Took two weeks to spot one frog!!!!

So I need to be underwater? Someone told me to ditch bring underwater to get the spawn. Now I'm really confused it makes no sense to me at all. There appears to be no system or consistency in what you need to do. Sorry to moan. I'm just very fed up with the whole thing. Xxx

I'm looking now. Since you're using SF, you could get the spawn, go underwater and get the tadpole and froglet and then let the first UW frog come for more spawn. I hate to waste a plate of SF! So once you were underwater, get your tadpole spotted. Then put out a low plate of berries and get one froglet spotted. Then clear the low plate of berries and wait for your first UW frog to come. It will drop more spawn on your empty plate. Then you will have lots more to do tadpoles and froglets. I would get rid of the high plate of berries at that point though. You don't want too many UW frogs spotted right now.

What are you confused about? The bottom dwellers eat spawn. That is why you need to have a good supply of UW frogs that are available to come to your garden. For each tadpole and froglet that is spotted in your garden, one UW frog will be able to come. So by using the first two plates of spawn to build up your tadpole and froglet count, you will have a good amount of frogs that will be able to visit when you're ready to start the bottom dwellers. Each 5th UW frog spotted in your garden will drop spawn, which you will need when you do the bottom dwellers as the eat the spawn. Once you have the spawn for the bottom dwellers, you will use a dulcia in your garden to deter all frog life.

Make a little more sense?

Yes, the dulcia will deter frogs. But it also deters tadpoles and froglets as well if I'm not mistaken. You could start the bottom dwellers, but I would build up my tadpole and froglet count a bit first. You will need lots of plates of spawn available when you do the bottom dwellers. So it's good to have a decent amount of UW frogs available. I would probably do the two plates of spawn to gather the tadpoles and froglets first before you start the bottom dwellers. That way you should get a good amount of tadpoles and froglets spotted.

Pretty much. But don't attract the UW frog too soon. Do some tadpoles and froglets first so you build up a decent number of those spotted. That will be important going forward so you always have UW frogs available.

P.S. when you're doing the tadpoles and froglets, use low plates! UW frogs won't come to the low plates. You don't want the UW frogs to come until you're ready for them! When you want your first UW frog to come, put out the high plate of berries and have the empty plate out to catch the spawn!

You didn't need to have an empty plate out when you spotted the 5th UW frog. If you now have spotted 10 tadpoles, froglets and UW frogs, you have another 5 land frogs that will visit! You just need to attract them in your garden now. When your 5th is due to come, that's when you want to have the empty plate out. Once you get the spawn, go underwater. You can do spawn now if you like. When you're underwater, for each tadpole and froglet set spotted in your garden, one UW frog will come. I'm pretty sure the first UW spotted in your garden will drop spawn if you have an empty plate out! So make sure you have an empty plate out BEFORE your first UW frog is spotted! Then every 5th UW frog will drop spawn. When you're underwater, try to keep your tadpole and froglet spotted count up so you always have enough UW frogs that can come. It's much easier to get the spawn underwater if you can because you don't have to worry about how many you have spotted in other gardens. Make sense? Let me know if I confused you, but it's pretty straight forward.
