I have a strategy that works ;-) I open many gardens that attract b-day WRCs (or elephants) and water just in the gardens where it's more than 2 hours on the food. This way I spot many critters, as people attract more than one kind of critters, and get cakes easily and quickly. Sometimes I open gardens that attract mice and  birthday unicorns, and water gardens where it's more than 3 hours on the food, as b-day unicorns come often so late. This way I spot many mice and other critters and also quickly get cakes. I think elephants are the best as you need to spot only 2 of them to get a cake.
