I used to sell diamonds for gold...it was a lucrative business and kept me afloat...but apparently that was never really allowed...who knew? I can remember advertising at the forums looking for someone to buy my gems. Anyway...when they revamped things. The only thing that can be sprinkled is gold...and it has to be gold that you have purchased or have gotten from spotting a gold critter. You can find out your gold sprinkle limits by going to your storage area and then the marketplace and follow the link that tells you.
I have done many things to get gold. The forest gems harvest for ten gold...a pittance I know. Certain season plants when harvested give gold. Spotting gold wildlife will give you gold sprinkles that you can convert to gold to yourself. The aureus plants are great gold givers...if you have not harvested five of each...do so. They give increasing amounts of gold dust. Just the first five of each...and the plants take ages....but it was worth it to me.

One cannot trade gems now...that option was taken away a number of years ago.

Yes, they are gone.  So sad. you can get free sprinkles, once a day, and the food is free, if you use regular.  :)) Still fun to be had!
