Wow Dominique reading what you sent me hust sent my anxiety up from 5 to 10
I don't like port but if we can eat chicken and beef but can't eat potatoes or rice with them, what else are we suppose to have with it apart from vegetables that i am not a great lover of
I have talk to some people that is trpe 2 diabetic and they have pasta and rice also noodles, couscous.
But I will keep a eye on my blood sugar levels.
but what ever I eat 2 hours after it high 13.0
but back down to 4.3 or 4.0 four hours later. and I only have breakfast and a evening dinner. and sometimes fruit in the afternoon.
I have stop eating chocolate, crisps, biscuits. and any alcohol, just drinking water, one cup of tea in the morning. and trying to do more exercise but some days find that difficult because of my Sciatica have good and bad days.

Hi Christine! You don’t have to live on chicken & vegetables for the rest of your life. You can eat fish too! And a little beef and pork occasionally. But no bread, pasta and rice or potatoes in any format! Not sure why the nurse told you that kind of food was okay. You could try and put some sugar free coffee creamer in your coffee and see how that goes. Just be careful what you eat because if you don’t watch your blood sugar levels, your lower limbs could get infected, which could cause gangrene if not immediately addressed with a strong dose of antibiotics, and gangrene will inexorably lead to an amputation of the toes and/or feet.

The diabetic Nurse who did my check-up told me. I gave her a list of what I have eating with the blood Sugar results beside them 2 hours after eating them. was told to stop having any sugar in my coffee and tea and to not have any ice cream or any cakes, and to have 3 Small portions of meals a day and to keep a check on blood sugar twice a day. she didn't say I couldn't have pasta or rice, but did say to cut down on my bread. and she would see me in 3 months time...
I do have chicken and vegetables. but I can't just live on that the rest of my life. last night I had chicken kiev with sweet potato chips and carrots. 2 hours later blood was 13.5 but time I went to bed was down to 4.5 my meals could be like jacket potato with tuna. pasta with mince or tuna. cream crackers with salmon. toast in mornings or with cheese on.

Good morning Christine! Those ghastly rodents are relentless! Do you test your blood sugar twice a day everyday? Who told you you could eat potatoes, pasta and rice? A medical professional? A diabetes expert? Because that’s the last thing you should be ingurgitating! Just stick to baked (not fried) chicken and green vegetables and you’ll be just fine. No sweet stuff whatsoever!

I been told I can eat potatoes, pasta and rice but in small portions. but to cut out any cakes and no ice cream that i love, time i go to bed do my blood suger it's back to normal 6.0  7.0

Oh no my dear Christine! You can’t eat any more potatoes, pasta and rice, and certainly no more white bread either, and no more cake, pie, tart, ice cream or sweets! All that good stuff is going to raise your blood sugar levels and you’re going to end up on insulin twice a day every day for the rest of your life. I know because it happened to me!

This disease will destroy you if you don’t learn how to control it before it controls you and eventually kills you.

You know what’s good for you though? Baked chicken and tons of green vegetables!

Hi Christine! Injecting insulin isn’t al that bad. You get used to it, eventually. You might not have to if you watch your diet and don’t eat too much food loaded with sugar and carbohydrates such as potatoes, pasta and rice!
