He got the pancreatitis from something he picked up on our morning walk ten days earlier - we nearly lost him 🙄😒
Emergency vet immediately followed by several visits to our own , being signed off on the 30th. He was put on a diet of boiled white fish, boiled eggs, and boiled chicken and vegetables 4 times a day. He's now back on his normal diet with a sprat in the morning and veg in the evening mixed in.  Lunch is without supplements. Next week he  will go back to 90g morning and evening
Of course, he's also on a long lead to prevent further scavenging.
The attack came from the rear. The first I was aware was B screaming and a heavy weight of about 100lbs of GSD  on my shoulders , Whitchurch pushed me on to the pavement. I pushed B behind me into a bush, grabbed the harness , told it exactly what I thought of its behaviour, and waited for the owner to decide to come and fetch it. Which she did, eventually.  The dog is not aggressive. It has simply been neglected and not trained.  It was calm as soon as I grabbed it. I hope it finds a new home with someone who will invest time and energy in it. It would be a brilliant service dog or just a companion to someone who deserved it.  The current owners certainly do NOT.  XXX

Beat officer called me this pm. He is going to serve the owners with a Voluntary Control Order, which entails keeping the dog muzzled and on a lead at all times in public. Infringement will mean will result in in the dog being removed.  In a way, I hope they do infringe the order, for the dog's sake.

Pancreatitis now gone, thank goodness. Back on small amount of normal food for 2 weeks, then 2 meals going forward.

Recovering from both being attacked from behind on Christmas morning by a huge , totally out of control GSD  as we were leaving the field. B screamed, as did I when 112lbs (rough guess) landed on my back and pushed me over. I pushed B into a bush behind me, grabbed the dog's harness and told it exactly what I thought of its behaviour. It was very calm, not at all, aggressive at that point. Eventually the owner sauntered out of the field, up to the three of us, said"sorry" in an off-hand way, put the slip lead over the GSD's neck and went off, with it prancing like a pony in front of her.
I had a witness, fortunately, whose dog has also been a victim of the same dog/owner. He followed them home and upon returning gave me the address and his contact details. We both reported the incident to the council, as they deal with dog-dog attacks. I also reported it to the police, as it attacked me, though fortunately I only sustained bruising, contusions and abrasions. It seems that unless I want to prosecute - which I don't, as W says it would cost a fortune - the police either can't or won't do anything about it.  What if I had been a child, or a pregnant lady?

Thanks for asking. B is getting better, thanks. Another blood test on Monday to see if the infection has completely gone and then it's the delightful job of filling in the insurance forms. 
I'm getting him a muzzle to prevent him being able to poison himself again. I couldn't handle it.
