Hi Pia, when Alfie used to get the runs, the vet told me to give him boiled chicken and rice, and to feed him that only for 2 to 3 days. If that didn’t work, then we should bring him in. On one occasion we did bring him in, he was so bad, we honestly thought he wouldn’t come home with us, but he did, and the vet gave us these pills to give him, those worked really well, and were not expensive, 30 pills for 20 dollars. Don’t ask me what they were though, lol. But he also told us to try probiotics, said we could get the people one, worked the same as the pet one, but much cheaper. No higher than 5 billion, for a small dog, likely no higher than 2. I bought from Costco, Webber being the brand. Every pet store will carry chewable probiotics for pets, at a much higher price, but they are no better than the human form, and our vet told us, perfectly okay to use human one. What a difference, Alfie did so much better, until he didn’t, and there was nothing we could do, because of his age, wish they lived as long as us. I had told quite a few people that had senior dogs, and they tried and were floored at the difference. Amazon sells them too, you can pretty much buy them anywhere. The pet chewable ones are flavoured so the pet actually will eat them, like a treat.
I’ve been where you are, you feel so helpless, because they have accidents, and they feel so bad for it. Nik will be our last dog, it’s just so painful to go through the loss, and to see them struggle when they become seniors. Such is life, dogs are definitely the greatest gift to humans, no one loves you more 🐾
We gave him one probiotic a day for 4 years, right up until he was no longer with us.

Lol at your super model comment, she’s down 32 pounds, could still lose 10 or so more, but not too concerned, will be able to exercise her more when snow and cold is gone. We take her for a walk and run everyday, but nothing like the summer. She weighs 92 pounds now, strong as a bull.

Have you tried probiotics with your dog? They did wonders with Alfie for a good 3 years, in his 15th year, it was tough for him and us, because we knew his time was near. Still breaks my heart. Hugs and slobbers to your wee pup 😘🐾
